When Cait was a little girl, she was hanging out with one of her fellow 3-year old friends at her home in Chicopee. Cait liked to listen to records even at this tender, young age. So, she and her friend were sitting in her room, listening to her parents’ records. One of these records was of “Those Were The Days, My Friend” by Mary Hopkins. Cait, being so overwhelmed with the nostalgia that this song brought to her little, toddler heart began shouting at her friend, “Isn’t this the saddest song you’ve ever heard?!” Basically this is the moment that I think best sums up my dear friend Caitlin Lord.

Renee had this idea last summer that she wanted to work on a farm, which in and of itself is a good idea except that the farm job she eventually got wasn’t what she was expecting. Instead of actual farming, the man she was working for basically wanted her to mow his many lawns and pull his many weeds all day in the hot, hot sun.

So after mowing and weeding for a little while, Renee knew she wanted out. After carefully considering her many options (explaining to her employer that the job wasn’t for her, sticking to it to see if she might change her mind, etc), she finally made her decision.

And that decision was to put the lawn mower back in the barn and then RUN FOR THE BUS STOP LIKE THERE’S NO TOMORROW. It was like the end of The Graduate, except it involved more crops.
